Acupuncture for Farm Animals

Farming finds itself in a difficult economic situation, so this form of hands-on therapy can be difficult to afford. However, pedigree breeders, organic farmers and others do call us out, for various problems, in cattle, sheep and pigs. Other farmed species are more rarely seen: deer, buffalo, camelids (llamas, alpacas etc.). We have yet to be asked to treat reindeer.
As in all species, we attend to diet, lifestyle and potential obstacles to recovery (including housing and other management issues), along with a full chiropractic check and any necessary chiropractic manipulation (i.e. holistic treatment), in support of acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture vet at work: conditions in which we find veterinary acupuncture (holistically applied) most helpful or beneficial in farm animals are:

Recumbency
Back pain
Arthritis
Laminitis
Shoulder lameness
Hip lameness
Paralysis
Lumbo-sacral problems
Fertility problems
Pain control
