Acupuncture for Horses and Ponies - Equine Acupuncture
| Working horses often benefit from Acupuncture |

|
| Veterinary Acupuncture - Horses |
We visit a large number of equine patients for veterinary acupuncture, around the UK and even further afield, for a variety
of health and soundness issues.
BACK PROBLEMS, NAVICULAR, HEADSHAKING (head shaking), LAMINITIS and MOONBLINDNESS
(ERU) are special interests.
Horses and ponies generally enjoy vet acupuncture, when it is
indicated. On rare occasions, a horse or a pony will object to needling. In such cases, we usually employ LASER acupuncture
[acupuncture-by-LASER], which they accept well as it is totally painless. However, we have observed that refusal
may indicate that Acupuncture is not indicated on that occasion.
We have enjoyed especial benefits when using acupuncture
for back problems, neck problems, head shaking, moon blindness, arthritis and lameness.
As in all species,
we attend to diet, lifestyle and potential obstacles to recovery (including saddling and shoeing in equines), along
with a full chiropractic check and any necessary chiropractic manipulation (i.e. holistic treatment) in support of acupuncture
treatment.
